Bio

A classically trained pianist and composer, born in Romania and shaped by a lifetime of cultural migration, my musical journey spans continents, genres, and artistic disciplines.

Trained at the College of the Arts in Iași, I later moved to Los Angeles to explore improvisation and composition. There I collaborated with film composer Adam Barber and visual artists Channa Horwitz and Ruah Edelstein. My minimalist piano interpretation of Horwitz’s Sonakinatography 3 was selected as the soundtrack for a dance performance shown at the Annenberg Beach House and in Horwitz exhibitions worldwide. I also premiered original works for cello/piano and choral madrigal at the Broad Stage in 2010 and 2011.

Based in London since 2012, I have worked as a composer, session musician, and collaborator across a range of projects — recording piano on Charlie Cawood’s Blurring into Motion, contributing vocals to two albums by Emmy-nominated ensemble the Mediaeval Baebes, and composing for the Modulus Quartet. I also self-published my own Strange Secret Sacred Love Cards, an original oracle set with an accompanying Bandcamp soundtrack.

Selected for the Electric Castle Summer Camp in 2020 and 2022, I performed at Electric Castle Festival 2023 and recorded vocals for Taku Takahashi’s film soundtrack Shokuzai.

My catalogue under my own name includes the piano improvisation album Lullabies for the New Normal, Romanian Carols of Old New, a minimalist a cappella Christmas album, and a recent Romanian carol arrangement, Colindul Cerbului (The Deer Carol).

After the completion of my Masters in production and songwriting, I launched Pandora Jodara as a new alter ego, for my producer/songwriter project, and released two fully self-produced singles, Power Hungry, and Dear Child… with more to follow soon!
